Stereo Stories performed at The Capital Theatre on Saturday 8 May as part of the Bendigo Writers Festival. Good to be back on stage!

Jenny Valentish recalled the rampant sexism of her early days as a music journalist.

Chris Phillips on vocals, Peter Maskell on guitar, accompanying Chris’ story about the first song she sang her to her firstborn. Into The Mystic.

Jock Serong told a story both humourous and poignant about the day he met Marlon Williams.

Martina Medica and Laura Sheridan performing Here Comes The Sun.

Carmel Bird quoted Shakespeare in her story about friendship, a borrowed cello, and Here Comes The Sun.

Bendigo poet Michael Leach dug deep in his tender poem about his late mother and her favourite song, Over The Rainbow.

Peter Maskell and Brian Nankervis during the show’s finale of Islands In the Stream.
A huge thank you to the Bendigo Writers Festival, and to the terrific technical crew at the lovely Capital Theatre who had us up and running very smartly. (You got six foldback speakers? Yep. Five vocal mics? Yep. A drum riser? Yep. A grand piano? Sure.)
