Long before Eric Algra began photographing our shows he was photographing the who’s who of OzRock, as one great band after another played in his hometown of Adelaide in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Eric’s book about those heady times, Rock’n’Roll City, was launched in early April in Adelaide, where there is also an exhibition until 20 May.

This Thursday evening, 28 April, Eric will be at Readings, St Kilda, in conversation with Phill Calvert, drummer with the Boys Next Door and Psychedelic Furs.

The Melbourne celebration of the release of Eric’s terrific book kicks off at 6.30pm. Hope to see you there!

Eric Algra is an Australia-based photographer. His documentary style encompasses both commissioned and personal work. Photography, as an art form, a record, an expression of unnameable yearnings, remains a driving passion. Challenging and developing his vision is important so Eric seeks out new thinking and stimulation.
