Melbourne, November, 2021
When The Stereo Stories Band is not preparing for its shows, the members are rehearsing and playing with various bands and combos around Melbourne and Geelong.
Julie Merritt, our accordion player and harmony singer (and so much more), recently joined – via Zoom – the Melbourne Georgian Choir. Georgia, as in Europe, not as in the US.
You’ll find Julie in the above YouTube clip: third row, second from the right. The 25 choir members recorded their own parts from their homes. All the vocals were then mixed by choir director Krzys Derwinski (second row, first on the right). The video was made by Jules Ober.
Julie also plays with the Prahran Accordion Band, which has a performance this Saturday afternoon, 20 November, at the German Tivoli Club in Windsor. The theme? By the seaside. Expect plenty of ocean singalong songs, jesting and jocularity, pirate jokes, and an apundance of puns.
Then on Sunday Julie will be rehearsing for the next Stereo Stories gig, at The Memo, St Kilda on Sunday afternoon, 9 January.
Good to be busy!
