Ólafsfjörður, Iceland 2014

In 2014 Rijn Collins was awarded a one-month writing residency in Ólafsfjörður, a remote Icelandic fishing village near the Arctic Circle. To her shock, she was accepted within the week.

In 2015, on the ABC website ABC Open, she wrote about her first days in the foreign, stunning landscape, and about a particular song she chose to listen to shortly after she arrived.

You can listen to Rijn reading the story at Radio National.
