(ONCE I HAD A) SECRET LOVE by ENGLEBERT HUMPERDINK. Story and artwork by Chris Rees.
At some point the peg began to sing, and the song it sang was (Once I Had A) Secret Love.

Riders On The Storm was the only Doors song 7BU ever played. My mental image of the singer was someone like the Marlboro Man crossed with the God of the Old Testament. All-seeing, all-knowing, powerful but not necessarily prepared to intervene.
I remember Sundays in the cold redbrick church, the smell of Mum's leather gloves and lipstick. During readings and sermons I would run imaginary horse races between the red, blue and green ribbons in my missal.
